Bookmark in PDF, much like a web browser’s bookmarks, makes our reading simple and efficient, especially when you are reading a large PDF file, with a bookmark to each PDF page, it will be much easier to turn to specific pages. So, many people prefer to create PDF with bookmark preserved, but on Mac OS X, you can even add bookmark to PDF after the PDF created, because Apple’s Preview is more than just PDF and images reader. Preview, default installed on all new Macs, allows you to add text to images, annotate PDF, merge many PDF files to one, etc.
To add PDF bookmark on Mac OS X, you can follow below steps:
choose Bookmarks > Add Bookmark > enter a name of the added PDF bookmark
Easily done! After you add bookmark to PDF, you can easily go to a bookmark while choosing its name from the Bookmarks menu. You can even rename PDF bookmark, choose Bookmarks > Edit Bookmarks > double-click its name and enter another name to the PDF bookmark. And if you don't need the PDF bookmark any more, you can easily delete PDF bookmark: choose Bookmarks > select to Edit Bookmarks > click Remove to delete the PDF bookmark.
You’ll see the PDF bookmarks whenever you open a PDF in Preview. However, when you send the PDF document to others, they won’t see its bookmarks on Mac.
By the way, you can also add comments to a PDF on Mac OS X to make a note of important PDF contents if needed.
